Project in 2022

nyc - rEPLACEMENT OF LIGHT POLES WITH TRAFFIC SIGN AND UPGRADING THE NETWORK ANTENNA FROM 4G TO 5G
The projects included the removal and replacement of existing light poles that currently support wireless communication equipment, installation of new poles integrated with traffic signage, and the upgrade of existing wireless network antennas from 4G (LTE) to 5G technology, over about 400 locations across the NYC 5 boroughs. GCE assisted the project team to ensure the pole foundations have been designed and constructed per minimum requirement by New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT), Department of Design and Construction (DDC), Department of Information Technology & Telecommunications (DoITT).

Projects in 2023

NY: Proposed Retaining Wall - Limited Geotechnical
The proposed construction was an approximately 100 linear feet of Modular Block Retaining Wall with 4 to 8 feet in height which is part of the larger development. GCE was part of the design team to assist and analyzed the subsurface conditions to provide the retaining wall design parameters and construction recommendations.
NJ: proposed residential Home - Construction and Evaluation
GCE was retained to perform the site visit and evaluate the foundation subgrades to ensure a firm and unyielding layer consisting of suitable bearing soils were present.
ny: Proposed Building Addition - Full Geotechnical Report
The proposed construction consisted of one (1) single-story building addition, with an approximate footprint of 8,000 square feet (sf). The proposed building addition was planned to be located directly to the northwest corner of the existing Elementary School building. GCE was part of the design team to assist and analyzed the subsurface conditions to provide the foundation design parameters and construction recommendations
ny: Proposed two-story medical building addition - Full Geotechnical Report
The proposed construction will consist of adding two (2) stories to the existing two (2) story office/medical building. The new building addition will have an approximate footprint of 2,962 square feet (sf) per floor. GCE was part of the design team to assist and analyzed the subsurface conditions to provide the deep foundation design parameters and construction recommendations.

Projects in 2024

ny - proposed bateery storage - Full Geotechnical Report
The proposed construction consisted of multiple Battery Energy Storage System (BEES) units. The structures were planned to be at-grade, near a relatively steep slope. GCE was part of the design team to assist and analyzed the subsurface conditions to provide the foundation design parameters including shallow and deep foundation system, and construction recommendations as well as global slope stability analysis of the existing and proposed grades near the slopes.
NY - Proposed Overpass/bridge replacement - full geotechnical report
The proposed developments consisted of the demolition of the existing bridge structure, and re-construction of the concrete box culvert bridge with varying widths and lengths. GCE was part of the design team to assist and analyzed the subsurface conditions to provide the foundation design parameters including shallow and deep foundation system per NY local requirement and AASTO guidelines, and construction recommendations.

NY - Redevelopment of Athletic Field - full geotechnical report
The proposed development consisted of the demolition and removal of the athletic field and baseball courts and the redevelopment of an athletic field with a new track and synthetic turf field. Additionally, the proposed development included the installation of new 80-feet high light poles, and a new underground stormwater management detention system. GCE was part of the design team to assist and analyzed the subsurface conditions to provide the foundation design parameters and construction recommendations.

GCE was requested to complete the design of the foundation tie down anchors.

GCE was requested to complete the design of the foundation tie down anchors which extended to bedrock.
ct - pavement study - limited geotechnical report
The existing pavement on site has experienced movement and damage, especially during the wet/winter seasons, and repair attempts have been made multiple times. The proposed roadway improvements consisted of the removal of the existing pavers, repair the subgrade, and install a new pavement section. GCE was retained to evaluate the subsurface condition and determine underlying causes to provide economical repair and replacement approach
ny - proposed warehouse - preliminary geotechnical reprt
The proposed construction consisted of the demolition of the portion of the existing building and re-development of one (1) 60-foot-high single-story rack stacking building at-grade.GCE was part of the design team to assist and analyzed the subsurface conditions to provide the foundation design support system including shallow bearing the most economical ground improvement system or deep foundation system including driven and drilled, and construction recommendations.

PROJECTs IN 2025

CT - Helical Pile Design
GCE was requested to complete the design of the foundation support system including helical pile. GCW analyzed the subsurface conditions per geotechnical investigation to determine the helical pile capacity including the depths, helix plate sizes, required final torque based on the designed building and foundation loads.

GCE was requested to complete the design of the foundation support system including micro pile. GCW analyzed the subsurface conditions per geotechnical investigation to determine the micro pile capacity including the depths, casing sizes, length of the bond zone, based on the designed building and foundation loads.
CT - Proposed Retaining Wall - full geotechnical report
The proposed development consisted of minor demolition of existing wooden retaining walls and the construction of two (2) modular concrete block retaining walls along the southern portion of the existing dwelling. GCE was part of the design team to assist and analyzed the subsurface conditions to provide the retaining wall design parameters and construction recommendations as well as recommendation to stabilize the existing slope prior, during and after the construction.
NY - Proposed Sportime Facility
The proposed development involved the construction of a new multi-sport recreational complex. The project included two (2) large air-inflated membrane structures, one approximately 40,830 square feet (South Structure) and the other 38,776 square feet (North Structure). In addition, a new two-level clubhouse building to be constructed, with a total footprint of approximately 9,477 square feet. The clubhouse was also featured office spaces, meeting rooms, a reception and lobby area, a café/lounge, locker rooms, a laundry room, and a pro shop. Additionally, the project included a 9,624-square-foot fabric/frame structure and various outdoor recreational amenities, such as Deco-turf and Har-Tru tennis courts, three padel courts, and a pickleball court. The development was also consisted of the construction of retaining walls up to 17 feet in height. The finished floor elevation of the ground floor of air-inflated membrane structures and the clubhouse is planned at elevations ranging from 300 to 315 feet. GCE was part of the design team to assist and analyzed the subsurface conditions to provide the most economical foundation design system including ground improvement support, deep foundations, and construction recommendations.
ny - proposed temple - full geotechnical report
The proposed development consisted of the construction of one (1) 2½-story temple building at grade, with an approximate footprint area of 16,500 square feet (sf). Additionally, two stormwater management systems, in addition to multiple bioretention basins, paved parking lots, and access drive lanes, were planned to be part of the proposed development. GCE was part of the design team to assist and analyzed the subsurface conditions to provide the foundation design parameters, and construction recommendations.
NY - Proposed Storgae Units - full geotechnical report
The proposed development consisted of the construction of one (1) single-story lightweight metal storage building at grade supported by isolated column footings and a slab-on-grade. GCE was part of the design team to assist and analyzed the subsurface conditions to provide the foundation design parameters, and construction recommendations.
ny - Over pass and bridge replacement
The proposed development consisted of the demolition of the existing bridge structures, removal of the existing pavement sections, and reconstruction of a pre-cast concrete single arch culvert bridges with wing walls in multiple location in New York State. GCE was part of the design team to assist and analyzed the subsurface conditions to provide the most economical foundation design system including shallow foundations, and deep foundations, as well as construction and dewatering recommendations. The recommendations were provided in accordance with New York DOT (NY DOT) requirement, AASHTO – Bridge Design Specifications, and FHWA design manuals.
